The Ground That Moves / 21” x 20” / Watercolor paper with handmade pinecone and avocado ink (Sold: private collection)

Grounded : Shift

The ground beneath our feet can shift unexpectedly, jolting us awake to the reality that change is inevitable. At times movement is illusory and purely external. At others, the perception of stillness is countered by the internal rumblings and reworkings of healing, adapting and searching for something new. Like the protective tannins found in the pinecones and avocados that give color to this collage series, we often safeguard ourselves during these vulnerable times of transition.
